Suryadatta Institute of Fashion Technology Wins First Prize at Green Conclave Fashion Show 2025
A team of five first-year B.Sc. Fashion Design students from the Suryadatta Institute of Fashion Technology (SIFT), Pune, emerged victorious in the "Circular Fashion Competition" organized by Green Conclave 2025 on January 18, 2025, at Suzlon One Earth, Hadapsar, Pune. Competing against four shortlisted colleges, the SIFT team won a cash prize of ₹15,000 and certificates. Themed “Elements of Nature: A Circular Fashion Odyssey,” the contest challenged participants to design sustainable fashion inspired by Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether. The SIFT team developed their collection, "Prakriti Nirman," emphasizing circularity and sustainability. They upcycled old clothes into fabrics using traditional weaving techniques and created stunning designs incorporating natural khadi to minimize environmental impact. Guided by SIFT faculty and supported by conceptual inputs from Mrs. Snehal Navlakha and Dr. Sayali Pande, the winning team—Sanika Kulkarni, Apurva Mane, Sakshi Kolekar, Payal Sirvi, and Lina Chaudhari—showcased innovative, eco-friendly designs that highlighted the importance of sustainability in fashion. .
Suryadatta’s Fashion Design Students Shine as Runners-Up at ‘Shape the Junk 9.0’ Fashion Show
A team of five first-year B.Sc. Fashion Design students from the Suryadatta Institute of Fashion Technology (SIFT), Pune, achieved the Runner-Up title at the prestigious "Shape the Junk 9.0" fashion show held on January 19, 2025, at the Sinhgad Cultural Center, Pune. Organized by the Rotaract Club of Pune Mideast, the event celebrated sustainability and creativity in fashion. The talented team—Apurva Mane, Sakshi Kolekar, Payal Chaudhari, Kirti Indure, and Sakshi Mahajan—stood out with their innovative upcycled designs, transforming discarded clothes into stunning creations. They showcased their expertise in draping, styling, and live garment crafting, reflecting the principles of sustainable fashion. Guided by SIFT faculty members Prof. Shikha Sharda (catwalk), Prof. Monika Karve, and Prof. Khushabu Gajabi (styling), and with overall mentorship from Principal Dr. Sayali Pande, the students demonstrated exceptional creativity and social responsibility. Their success highlights SIFT’s dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability in the fashion industry.

सूर्यदत्त इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ फॅशन टेक्नॉलॉजीचा निकाल शंभर टक्के
फॅशन डिझाईनच्या विद्यार्थ्यांची उल्लेखनीय कामगिरी; प्रा. डॉ. संजय बी. चोरडिया यांच्याकडून कौतुक
पुणे, ता. २२: सूर्यदत्त एज्युकेशन फाउंडेशन संचालित सूर्यदत्त इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ फॅशन टेक्नॉलॉजीचा (एसआयएफटी) शैक्षणिक वर्ष २०२५-२६ मधील बी.एस्सी. फॅशन डिझाईन प्रथम सत्र परीक्षेचा निकाल शंभर टक्के लागला आहे. सावित्रीबाई फुले पुणे विद्यापीठामार्फत घेण्यात आलेल्या या परीक्षेत विद्यार्थ्यांनी उल्लेखनीय यश संपादन केले. वेनेशा रितेश वधान (९.७३ एसजीपीए), आस्था दीपक पटेल (९.६४ एसजीपीए), तर शावनी धनंजय फडतरे (९.४५ एसजीपीए) यांनी अनुक्रमे प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय क्रमांक पटकाविला.
सूर्यदत्त एज्युकेशन फाउंडेशनचे संस्थापक अध्यक्ष प्रा. डॉ. संजय बी. चोरडिया आणि उपाध्यक्षा सुषमा चोरडिया यांनी सर्व यशस्वी विद्यार्थिनी, पालक आणि प्राध्यापकांचे अभिनंदन केले. विद्यार्थ्यांची मेहनत, सातत्यपूर्ण मार्गदर्शन आणि उद्योगाभिमुख शिक्षणपद्धतीमुळे हे यश मिळाल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले.
प्रा. डॉ. संजय चोरडिया म्हणाले, ‘‘सूर्यदत्तमध्ये सर्जनशीलतेसोबत शैक्षणिक गुणवत्ता विकसित करण्यावर भर दिला जातो. विद्यार्थ्यांची ही कामगिरी त्यांच्या मेहनतीसह प्राध्यापकांच्या समर्पित कार्याची पावती आहे. भविष्यात हे विद्यार्थी जागतिक फॅशन क्षेत्रात यशस्वी व्यावसायिक आणि उद्योजक म्हणून पुढे येतील, असा विश्वास आहे.’’
संस्थेच्या सहयोगी उपाध्यक्षा स्नेहल नवलाखा यांनीही विद्यार्थ्यांचे कौतुक करून पुढील वाटचालीस शुभेच्छा दिल्या. 'एसआयएफटी'च्या प्राचार्या डॉ. सायली पांडे यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांच्या यशाबद्दल समाधान व्यक्त करताना संस्थेच्या गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षण, नवोपक्रम आणि सर्वांगीण विकासाच्या ध्येयधोरणामुळे सातत्याने यश मिळत असल्याचे सांगितले.
'एसआयएफटी'च्या स्थापना २०१० मध्ये झाली असून, आतापर्यंत १२०० हून अधिक विद्यार्थ्यांना मार्गदर्शन केले आहे. फॅशन डिझाईन, रिटेल व्यवस्थापन, फ्रीलान्सिंग, अॅक्सेसरीज डिझाईन आणि उद्योजकता या क्षेत्रांत अनेक विद्यार्थी यशस्वीपणे कार्यरत आहेत. याशिवाय, ‘आयआयआरएफ बेस्ट डिझाईन कॉलेज सर्व्हे २०२४’मध्ये सूर्यदत्त इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ डिझाइनला देशात १५ वा आणि राज्यात तिसरा क्रमांक मिळाला आहे.
संस्थेत अद्ययावत अभ्यासक्रम, प्रात्यक्षिक शिक्षण, कार्यशाळा, संशोधनाधारित प्रकल्प आणि उद्योगतज्ज्ञांशी संवाद यांद्वारे विद्यार्थ्यांना व्यावसायिक प्रशिक्षण दिले जाते. ‘ला क्लासे’ या वार्षिक फॅशन शोद्वारे विद्यार्थ्यांना स्वतःच्या संकल्पना आणि डिझाइन सादर करण्याची संधी दिली जाते. या माध्यमातून विद्यार्थ्यांना उद्योगविश्वाचा प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव आणि आत्मविश्वास मिळत असल्याचे संस्थेकडून सांगण्यात आले.
